High Velocity Oil Flushing 

High Velocity Oil Flushing (HVOF) is a critical commissioning and maintenance procedure used to remove particulate contamination, debris, varnish, and residual manufacturing byproducts from lubrication and hydraulic piping systems before — or during — equipment startup. By circulating oil at turbulent flow rates well above normal operating velocity, the process scours pipe walls and dislodges contaminants that would otherwise circulate through bearings, gearboxes, servo valves, and other precision components, causing accelerated wear or catastrophic failure. Achieving the target cleanliness level — verified by particle counting against ISO 4406 or NAS 1638 standards — before introducing clean equipment to operating conditions is not just best practice; in many cases it is a manufacturer warranty requirement. HVOF is an essential safeguard for any facility where unplanned downtime or equipment damage carries significant operational and financial consequences.
